Your Reading Circle
Making reading accessible to all.
Strangers meet in Ahmedabad, bring any book, read together in silence, and then talk. Alongside the meetups we install free mini libraries across Gujarat and build full libraries in remote villages — no membership, no fee, no one turned away.
The Listening Circle
Normalising help-seeking and mental health support.
Not therapy. Not advice. Not fixing. Curated two-hour circles with a professional psychologist present, where anyone quietly struggling can speak — and no one has to. Around them we run street theatre, awareness seminars and city-wide campaigns.

13 mini libraries installed across Gujarat. Open to anyone, no membership required.
Village Library Project
Full, free, fully-functioning libraries built in remote villages of Gujarat and Bharat.
Listening Circles
Curated two-hour events with a professional psychologist present. 50+ hosted so far.
Street Theatre
Plays performed in public places, hostels and societies. 50+ locations across three cities.
Awareness & First Aid Seminars
Mental health awareness and first aid seminars, held at 30 locations in Ahmedabad and Baroda.
City-Level Campaigns
Two to three day campaigns per city — 30–40 seminars, street plays and a flagship event. Upcoming.
Gujarat Ride
25–30 people, 10–12 cities, 12 days, 200+ events. Planned for December.
We are measured in decades, not quarters. Same library, same Sunday, same chair — for thirty years.
Virakt Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit based in Ahmedabad. The name comes from virakti, a Sanskrit word for a quiet kind of detachment. It began in November 2023 with a single listening circle of seven people, and it is funded entirely by monthly donors, one-time gifts and CSR partnerships — no foreign grants, no strings. Every rupee in and out is printed, posted and public, every quarter.
